I Dumped Four Apps Into One Repo and Hoped One Database Could Hold Them All

August 1: one repo, one database.

The Ford family · Josh, dad and builder of FamilyOrganization.app, writing up his build journey

Published Updated 1 min read

On August 1 I pulled my four projects into one repository: the iPhone app into ios-app, the Roku channel into roku-app, the Alexa skill into alexa-skill and the web app template into website. It was a fresh copy with no imported history, 143 files in all.

I added a README that explains the layout, and I set up a dedicated database schema in Supabase called family_app so every app reads from the same place. I also wrote down the Supabase decisions, and I noted that the Alexa skill hadn't been started.

That was the day: one repo, one database, and a place to build from. Here's where each platform stands today.

Built on August 1, 2026 (commit d37b23c). Written up on October 2, 2026 from my commit history.
