Do I need to buy new hardware?
No, FamilyOrganization.app turns a Roku TV the family already owns into a family dashboard, so no dedicated wall screen is needed.

Can a smart TV be used as a digital calendar?
Yes, a smart TV can be a family calendar: cast a phone, open a calendar in the TV's browser, run a dashboard app, or install a native TV app like FamilyOrganization.app on Roku.

Calendars and time
How events get onto the TV, and how the countdown works.
Which calendars does it sync?
The calendars on your iPhone: iCloud, or Google and Outlook accounts added to the phone.

Can I add events on the TV or by chat?
Not yet: events come from your iPhone's calendars.

How does the leave countdown work?
Before each appointment the TV shows a GET READY block sized to that person's own get-ready time, a TRAVEL TIME block and a LEAVE IN countdown.

AI and voice
Claude, ChatGPT and Alexa: all optional, and all still in development.
Does it work with Claude or ChatGPT?
Not yet: the Claude and ChatGPT connector is in development and isn't open to families.

When it is, a household admin connects it once, then asks in plain words to add tasks, plan meals or read out the day.

Does it work with Alexa?
Not yet: an Alexa skill is in development, and it isn't available to families yet.
Do I have to use AI?
No.

AI isn't involved in FamilyOrganization.app unless you want it to be, and everything works without it. Nothing is connected to an assistant unless a household admin chooses to.
Privacy and cost
Who sees your family's data, and what it costs.
Is my family's data private?
Yes, your family's data is visible only to your household, enforced in the database for every request.
