Twenty-Three Commits in One Day: The Planner on My Phone, My TV and the AI

August 31: 23 commits for the planner.

The Ford family · Josh, dad and builder of FamilyOrganization.app, writing up his build journey

August 31 was 23 commits, all about the planner: a queue of tasks you plan onto a day, week or month, and time blocks.

I started with the rules. A task with no planned date is in the queue; that's the whole definition. A task dropped into "this week" doesn't read as due on Monday. An unfinished task from last week still shows, flagged, and a finished one doesn't follow you forward. I wrote 20 test cases for that, then built it into the connector, the phone and the Roku, and added optional prices on purchases. The planner is the result.

Built on August 31, 2026 (commit d6914cd). Written up on October 2, 2026 from my commit history.
